Happy Father-to-be Day & 25 weeks!

Father's Day 2010...next year it's going to look very different!
25 Weeks...only 15 more to go!
Pregnancy Highlights...
Size of the baby: Our little fella now measures 13 1/2 inches long from head to heels and weighs about a pound and a half. Baby Center says that isn't much more than an average rutabaga (which is a yellow turnip...who knew?)
Best moment of this week: Thinking about what Father's Day will be like for Ryan next year!
Movement: All of the time...just when I forget I'm pregnant he gives me a little kick.
Food Cravings: Lime popsicles!
What I miss: Nothing really.
Sleep: Gus loves sleeping next to my belly. I'm waiting for him to feel the baby kick.
Symptoms: Feeling great right now...getting a little nervous for the heat and 3rd trimester combo coming up.
What I'm looking forward to: A weekend away at the lake!

Lindsey

24 Weeks & Dr. Appt.!

Pregnancy Highlights...
How far along: 24 weeks...6 months!
Size of the baby: Almost a foot long (Baby Center says to picture an ear of corn but I think picturing an actual foot long hot dog is more fun) and he gained 4 oz. since last week! BC says that he is pretty lean right now but will start to plump up!
Maternity Clothes: Busted out my one-piece maternity swim suit on Sunday!
Best moment of this week: Ryan felt the little guy move on Saturday 6.12!!!
We bought the nursery furniture and received the bedding in the mail...yay! We had a Dr. appt. yesterday and it went great...nothing new or exciting but I think that is a good thing!
Movement: He's quite the kicker....maybe he knows the world cup is going on!
Food Cravings: Pancakes, ice cream and limeades
What I miss: Nothing.
Sleep: Love it!
Symptoms: Thankfully feeling good.
What I'm looking forward to: Eating dinner...

Lindsey

23 Weeks!

(Gus wanted in the pic to show off his new do!)

Pregnancy Highlights...
How far along:
23 weeks and 1 day!
Size of the baby: Our little boy is more than 11 inches long and weighs a little over a pound (about as much as a large mango) - Baby Center
Maternity clothes: I am wearing some maternity tanks but still trying to savor my normal clothes until they don't fit...thank goodness for sundresses and leggings!
Best moment of this week: Picking out nursery furniture! And not the best but the funniest moment...a 2nd grader at the Club asked how far along I was and if I am ready to push? What 2nd grader knows pregnancy terms and what actually happens in the delivery room? And they ask me daily what we are going to name him! They have some pretty good ideas...Keandre, Tyrell, Deyreck, Talique, K'veion, TraSaul, etc.
Gender: BOY!!!
Movement: Yes, all of the time...and I can tell he is getting stronger!
Food Cravings: PB&J's, limeades and ice cream!
What I miss: the occassional cocktail w/ friends or glass of wine after a hard day...small price to pay for the little guy though!
Sleep: The drooling subsided this week (thank goodness) and I'm out when my head hits the pillow!
Symptoms: Random heartburn...must be a hairy little fella!
What I am looking forward to: Decorating the nursery, Ryan feeling him move and our Doctor's appointment on Monday 6/14!

Lindsey

22 Weeks!

Pregnancy Highlights...
How far along: 22 weeks!
Size of the baby: Our little baby boy weighs almost 1 lb. and is 11 inches from head to heel (the length of spaghetti squash). Baby Center says our baby is starting to look like a miniature newborn!
Total Weight gain: I have no idea...10+
Maternity Clothes: Trying to avoid them until absolutely necessary since I don't have very many.
Best Moment of this week: Deciding on bedding and moving the furniture out of the soon-to-be nursery!
Gender: BOY!!!
Movement: He has been doing sommersaults lately and is always kicking when I put my seatbelt on.
Food craving: Sweets!
What I miss: Nothing really.
Sleep: I am a drooling machine and have been having some crazy dreams!
What I am looking forward to: Working on the nursery and Ryan feeling him move!
Symptoms: Hot...but it is summer so I don't think it is quite a symptom!

It's a Boy!

This past Saturday (May 22nd) we had a Gender Revealing BBQ with some close friends and family. We figured that since we wanted to find out the gender of the little one we might as well make it FUN...plus it was a great excuse to get everyone together!

My fabulous friend Sam and I dreamed up the idea before I was even pregnant and I am so grateful that she and her wonderful husband, Brady, helped make it happen! After our Dr. appt. on Wednesday I gave the secret envelope to Sam and she took it straight to the bakery w/o peeking...or so she says! So, no one knew the gender except for the Dr. and the Baker!

I thought for sure we would cut the cake before dinner but we were waiting on a few special people to arrive so we waited until after dinner and then Ryan cut the cake! Surprise...the inside was BLUE!!! Ryan and I were thrilled and everyone was screaming! It was a moment that we will never forget!
Here are some fun pictures from the evening...

Kisses (Sam's little boy Parker and Gus)... XOXO,
Lindsey

20 Week Dr. Appt. & Sonogram

We had our 20 week appointment yesterday and it was so fun! The baby is perfectly healthy...yay!!! During the sonogram the baby was doing yoga...its feet were up by its head and just moving around. I could have watched the baby all day long! It is so real to see the feet, hands, heart beating...the sonographer took measurements of all the body parts and organs to make sure we were growing okay and we were right on track with our due date. The baby weighed 12 oz. and was 10 inches long. The sonographer had us look away while she was looking at the male/female organs (I so wanted to peek)! She put the gender on the picture and put it in an envelope...to be later delivered to my friend Sam who then took it to the bakery for the big reveal cake! It killed Ryan and I not to look! I am so glad it wasn't in our possession for very long! I feel so blessed/relieved/happy that our baby is healthy!!!
