Buddies!

...this is my friend, Sam! I was blessed to meet her 'officially' 2 years ago but its hard to believe that our paths did not cross once at K-State! She began working at the Boys & Girls Club in the summer of '09 and my life has never been the same! We were instantly friends and have so much in common that it is too good to be true! She makes going to work so much fun and has been there for me through everything in the past 2 years...most importantly my pregnancy and mommyhood. Its crazy how God puts people in your life at certain times for certain reasons...he knew what he was doing when he introduced Sam and I. Sam was pregnant with Parker when she started (fun fact: we had the same due date just 1 year apart...Oct 5, 2009 and 2010) and soon after I became pregnant with Greyson...you could say that Parker made me a little baby crazy and Sam did some convincing as well :)! She was full of great advice and was such a wonderful support to me throughout my pregnancy...and now as a new mom! Sam and her wonderful husband even threw us our gender reveal shower this time last year!! I could go on and on about little stories and funny stuff but I don't want to bore anyone...so I will cut to the point...Sam, Brady and Parker are moving to England!! Yay/tear!! I am beyond happy for their little family and a little jealous (what a cool adventure) but so incredibly sad (I think I've cried more than Sam)! I feel like I am losing my partner in crime! I know there is great technology but talk to anyone of my friends and they will tell you that long distance communication is my downfall! Sam has promised to stalk me though...hehe! We will miss the Alexanders like crazy but wish them nothing but happiness in their move across the pond!!

We had a little photo shoot with the boys on a rainy Friday...and yes, we dressed them alike on purpose :)!

What a stud muffin!

G loved watching Parker.

"Hold Greyson's hand."

Awe...best friends and they don't even know it yet!

Parker looks so ornery in this pic and I love it!

Business Partners!

Parker was a little jealous when his mommy was holding G!

I'm such a good photographer...haha! Actually, I just caught an adorable little guy at a cute moment!

Baby food aka solids!

I'm not sure why everyone calls babyfood "solids?!?" For instance..."have you started 'solids' yet?" It just sounds funny to me, I guess. Anyone else agree? Ok, maybe I'm strange.

Anyways, we started G on 'solids' a couple of weeks before he turned 6 months. Our doctor told us to have fun...but I'm pretty sure he didn't mean torture your child with peas...haha, this pic is hilarious!

So we have learned that Greyson has some likes and dislikes...
Likes: pears, apples, sweet potatoes, avocados, squash and carrots.
Dislikes: peas, bananas (he is starting to like them better though) and potatoes.

I feel like I have used our kitchen more in the past month than I have since we have lived here! For some strange reason I really enjoy making his food...maybe its the guilt from no longer giving him breastmilk! I even bought a cookbook...Ryan teased me saying that only I would need a cookbook to tell me how to steam, blend and then freeze! It has been a big help to me though w/ some good tips for the domestically challenged!

Bon appetit, Greyson!

Happy 6 month birthday, Greyson!

Greyson you are 6 months old and half way to turning 1! I can't believe it. The past 6 months have been so fun!

Here's what you have been up to over the past month:
-You weigh 17lbs 13oz (58th percentile), you are 27 1/4 inches long (79th percentile) and your head circumference is 17 1/2 inches (71% percentile).

-You had your Dr. appt. yesterday (4/5) and the doc said you looked great!!

-You are wearing 6 month, 6-9 month and 6-12 month clothing and size 2 or 2-3 diapers.

-You are still sleeping 10-11 hours a night. You usually go to sleep around 8pm and wake-up at 7am. You still occasionally wake up in the middle of the night for your pacifier.

-You are on a great schedule. You like to play for a little bit after you eat at 7 and then will sleep until 10. You have a bottle when you wake-up. Then usually some rice cereal or oatmeal. Then you play for awhile and take a short morning nap that lasts about an hour. You eat again at 1pm and then play and then go to sleep until about 3:30. You eat again at 4pm and then eat solids around 6pm and play. You eat again around 7pm and then go to bed.

-I think you slowed down on your weight gain a little bit b/c mommy forgot that there are different levels of nipples for different ages for the bottles. You were getting frustrated eating and then I bought age-appropriate nipples and you ate like a champ! I felt terrible! But I guess you learn as you go!

-The biggest change this month is you are eating solid foods! I have been making your food...so far you have tried apples, peas, squash, bananas, pears, avocados and sweet potatoes. You didn’t like the peas at all but we will try them again soon (picture to come)!

-You are sitting-up on your own and you still love to stand!

-You jabber a lot! You say what sounds like "mama" all the time. You also say "baba." Daddy is patiently waiting for you to say "dada." Your voice is so cute! My mom said that if they say mama first then you will have a boy next and if they say dada first your next will be a girl...we will see if that old wives tale is true (not anytime soon though:))!

-You put everything in your mouth! Anything in sight goes straight to your mouth! You also love to grab and reach for our faces and chew on daddy's nose!

-You LOVE Gus and Ellie! Everytime they walk in the room you just grin. The feelings are mutual with Gus but Ellie is still unsure about you. You like to "pet" Gus and he doesn't mind at all.

-You still love your jumper and exersaucer. You could jump all day!

-You are playing with more and more of your toys...you usually just look at them and then figure out how to shove them in your mouth! Its so fun to watch you play and entertain yourself.

-You LOVE bath time. You like to suck on a wash cloth and splash around!

-Your nicknames are...G, Bubba, Bubbies, Baby G, Bubba G and Grey-man.

-You love when mommy and daddy read you books and sing to you! Cardboard books are our favorites right now since you like to turn the pages! And you favorite songs are "Jesus loves me" and the "ABCs."

-Your GG, Gma and Nana comment on how happy and easy you are...I think they are partial! You really are a great baby though.
Happy 6 months (1/2 birthday) to our baby G! We love you!!!

mommy and daddy

Spring Cleaning!

We had a free Saturday so we took full advantage to do some spring cleaning. Its amazing how much longer and harder it is to do simple things like cleaning the house or doing yardwork...there is a little someone always wanting to play and we can't seem to say no. So while he naps we work like crazy people!

So BIG! I think G has officially grown out of his swing!

This seems like yesterday!

Heading to storage!

Also, heading to storage is my pump. This is super bittersweet for me! That thing was my sidekick for 6 months and I wish more than anything that I could have made it longer but this cow has dried up :(!

We ended the busy day at Abuelo's! Greyson is so active now at dinner...has to touch everything and likes to take sips of our water...I don't think he really gets anything he just likes the cold glass.

Lindsey
